Every year 80% of New Year’s Resolutions made around the world are broken by mid-February.

We have put together a list of 21 tips and habits if “Take better care of my hair” is on your list of Resolutions. With these guidelines, sticking to your resolution will be as easier than ever!

1. Wash hair with lukewarm water

A warm shower is relaxing, but that hot water can strip your hair of essential oils, which can lead to dry and dull-looking hair. Lukewarm water is just as effective in getting your hair clean, so turn down the temperature when you’re washing your hair!

2. Apply shampoo on your roots

When applying shampoo, it is best to focus on your scalp since this is the area that really needs cleansing. Once you’ve thoroughly washed your roots, quickly wash your lengths and ends and rinse.

3. Avoid roots when applying conditioner

Conditioner only needs to be placed on the mid-length to ends of your hair. Applying conditioner to your roots can cause your hair to get oily and weighing down your hair. Comb your hair with a wide-tooth comb to ensure even distribution and leave it in for a few minutes to give your hair time to absorb the moisture!

4. Rinse thoroughly

Once you’ve applied shampoo and conditioner, make sure to rinse out any remaining as leftover product can lead to build up.

5. Finish off your wash with a cold blast

Once you have rinsed your hair, finish off your wash with a blast of cool water. This help close the hair cuticle and gives strands a smoother look.

6. Avoid washing your hair every day

Avoiding washing your hair every day to allow your natural oils to  build up and moisture your hair.
